Sashco Sealants 13010 Lexel Adhesive Caulk 10.5oz, Clear Lexel is a co-polymer rubber-based sealant. It has excellent adhesion to a wide variety of materials, even after seven days of water immersion. Although it's tougher and resists tearing, Lexel is a soft rubber. This allows it to stretch and compress with joint movement. Lexel should not be used in areas of continuous submersion (i.e., aquariums or swimming pools). Do not use Lexel in areas where temperatures exceed 200 Degrees F. Lexel may damage some plastics, such as polystyrene foam insulation. Plastics not listed should be tested for Lexel compatibility before general application. Undermount sinks are gaining popularity among many home owners, they are preferred because of their flat bench top surface which is easy to keep clean and maintained. Undermount sinks are fitted underneath the bench top as opposed to the traditional sinks that are fitted onto the bench itself leaving the edge exposed which collects grime and food after a while. you can purchase undermount sinks in all manner of shapes and sizes with accessories to match.

You can also purchase them in different types of finishes such as marble or stone or to the more common stainless steel finish. This article will touch on how to install a counter top for your undermount sink. The first thing as with anything is to choose a sink that meets your specific needs. You will need to cut and measure your counter top to fit your sink. This is somewhat of a task in itself and is best left for a professional if you are unsure.

Whether you do it yourself or not is up to you, but you must have precise measurements in order for your sink to fit and be stable. After the cuts have been made get a bristle brush and clean away any access chips or dust underneath the counter top next get a 2 by 4 board that is longer than the sink opening and have 2 bar clamps handy. Now position your board over the sink opening and ad some silicon adhesive to the rim of the sink and then you can line up the sink underneath the counter top. Put one end of the clamp onto the to the board and put the other through the drain opening and partially tighten together. simply do the same to the other side, you must make sure the the sink is in perfect alignment before you tighten the clamps all the way.

A silicone adhesive or caulk is best to use as it is water proof and bonds the components together. Mix 2 part epoxy together and with this apply to bolt posts that are next to the lip of the sink. when this is set you can then install the wing nuts onto the bolts and then tighten to the inserts which hold the sink in place. Allow everything to set for at least 24 hours and there you have it your undermount sink counter top. Now all that's required in the installation for the plumbing
